Gerald listed his religion as Church of England His next of kin was his mother Mrs. Mary Bromley.
His did not finish grade 8 to work on the farm. He was 19 1/2 years old. He was described as 6' 2" tall and weighed 158 lbs. He had a clear complexion with hazel eyes and dark brown hair.
He lived in Woodstock, NB for 4 years; Westmeath, ON for 11 years; Beachburg for 2 years and Cobden for 2 years. He was farming at the time of enlistment, working for his father and had farmed since leaving school except for 7 1/2 monts as labourer at Magnesium Mines, Haley Station. He listed his sports and hobbies as hunting, snow shoeing, hockey and rugby.
WWII service:
- Stationed in Ottawa then Peterborough, to Camp Borden Apr 30, 1943. He qualified as rifleman on July 16, 1943. He embarked overseas on July 29, 1943. He was serving with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry when killed in action
