  1880's A brick making plant is put in operation by William Cashmore on lots 123 to 130. In 1896 it was bought by Robert and Edgar Caswell who supplied brick for many of the houses built in Cobden up to 1912. The letter 'C' was moulded into the face of each brick. Cobden Then & Now, p. 123
